Since the riots of August 2011, Street Kids Rescue has gone from strength to strength. 2012 is going to be a bumper year for us and we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead! We now have a versatile team of volunteers working incredibly hard to increase awareness of the work we do as well as generate much needed funds for our various projects.
Duncan Mundell (charity founder & Party Superstores owner) is currently visiting all the projects in Southeast Asia and is in the process of arranging operations for children he has found with medical conditions in incredibly remote areas. Duncan has also been meeting with doctors, volunteers and locals in various countries to discuss possible new projects.
Our first event for 2012 is Sauzi Rock Night which will be held at The Grand, Clapham Junction on Thursday 01 March. Join us for an evening of the finest unsigned heavy rock acts and an appearance by Europe’s biggest and best AC/DC tribute act . All proceeds go directly to Street Kids Rescue so come down, get involved and raise some money for a great cause. Dust off your leathers and prepare to rock!
We are proud to be working alongside Pass It On Africa to launch their first ever Heroes Run at Clapham Common on Sunday 01 April. Pass It On Africa are a small charity making big changes in the lives of children in Kenya, Ghania and Gambia. Sign up with Street Kids Rescue to do a kids 500m dash (ages 8-13), a 5km run (for ages 13 and over) or a 10km run (age 16 and over) and you will be supporting BOTH charities!
We also have 4 brave young men setting off to the island of Koh Lanta Thailand early March as they take part in a rickshaw race across South East Asia for 2 weeks, all in aid of Street Kids Rescue. Whilst they all hold fantastic degrees in an array of fields, none of them have a single clue about how an engine works and these rickshaws are prone to breaking down. These guys need your support so please follow their journey here.
And that is just the first quarter of the year! If you would like any information regarding any of the above events or would like to get involved, please contact: hayley@streetkidsrescue.org
