Get fit and healthy with The SunWalk London
Get ready to put your best foot forward and party to the tropical sounds in Battersea Park, London in 2012 as The SunWalk London is returning!
After the amazing success of The SunWalk 2011, when £250,000 was raised for vital breast cancer causes, next year grant making charity Walk the Walk, famous for the MoonWalks in London, Edinburgh and Iceland, will hold the event once more, this time with a tropical theme. Kicking off in Battersea Park, London on Sunday 1st July this challenge is for all ages, from 1 year olds to 80 year olds.
Battersea Park will be transformed into a tropical paradise. You can choose to complete a Half Marathon, 10k or 5k, which makes this challenge achievable for people of all ages, fitness levels and abilities. What makes this charity’s event different is that participants aged 13 and over, wear brightly decorated bras – as you can see they really went to town last year with terrific tassels, Swarovski crystals and Stetsons. Gaby Roslin came along to wish the walkers well and to say a few words of encouragement.
The SunWalk London 2012 will be another great fun day out for the whole family, let you imagination take you off to a tropical land, think pineapple bras, sunshine and fresh reggae tunes. Small steps make BIG changes…no matter how small! By aiming to raise a minimum sponsorship of £100 you could be helping to raise £500,000 on this one day. Walk the Walk will be granting these funds to where we know it will make the most difference to vital breast cancer causes.
Walk the Walk also ask for your commitment to get into training for the big day. It’s all about raising money, raising awareness, getting fit and having fun!
