A lovely place to have a drink and a bite to eat, any time of the day or evening.
Named after co-owner Kami’s furry 4-pawed friend “Kisse”, this well-known style bar’s name translates as “pussy cat” in Swedish. The Kisse Bar has been a steadfast fixture on Lavender Hill since 2003, where the owners Simin & Kami offer an all-round, round-the-clock, friendly service on the easterly side of Lavender Hill. There are no other businesses like this one nearby, which are so consistently welcoming at any moment at which you might find yourself wanting a sit-down, a drink and a bite to eat.
The Kisse Bar doors are open for breakfast in the morning with fresh coffee and juices, through to lunch time when they serve salads, snacks, cold beer and wine, then carrying on all the way to the evening, serving food and drinks until late, all absolutely non stop. During the week Kisse Bar plays smooth and jazzy background music, creating a relaxed atmosphere which lots of locals pop in to enjoy. On Friday and Saturday nights, the resident DJ starts at 10pm playing funky house bringing a buzzing ambiance which means they have many parties and group bookings, drinking and dancing the night away.
The menu has big selection of freshly made snacks, breakfasts, grilled meats, salads and deserts. The drinks menu offers all the mouth watering classics, plus Kisse's special cocktails and an extensive wine and beer menu. Happy hour starts from 6pm and goes on all the way until midnight, which makes it easy for those who work late or fancy a freshly made cocktail later on, to visit whilst still enjoying the excellent value of 2-4-1! Customers at the Kisse Bar may sit either on the patio (which is very popular in the summer time) or the comfortable indoor area for the cooler times of the year. The
Kisse Bar is now taking bookings for Christmas parties and for their own event on New Year’s Eve. Tickets for NYE are priced at a very reasonable £10 per head, to see in the New Year in style. Private parties are welcome at the Kisse Bar and it has an ample capacity of around 90 people.
The majority of Kisse Bar customers are local people who live in the SW area, which ensures it as a very friendly place, Simin says “it’s like you are in a village of Lavender Hill (…) so you know everyone and they know you” she continues: “I think the Save Our Shops campaign is an ideal movement for Lavender Hill, because so many people still don't know what we are offering here or in the shop next door (…) if people will support the local businesses we can have a strong community.”.
