 Ceelect Sports provides professional top quality sports equipment specifically for hockey players, rugby players, cricketers, swimmers and runners.
Unlike high street commercial sports equipment vendors, this store is able to provide the high quality products combined with the expertise to advise sportspeople on the best equipment for their personal needs. Run by Allan Jobling, an experienced hockey player and coach himself, Ceelect Sports supplies all the requirements for both the amateur player who wants to take their sport that little bit more seriously and the professional who wants the highest standard of equipment available.
Ceelect Sports was set up in 2003 to fulfil the ever growing need for a Hockey Shop in the Battersea / Wandsworth area. It was also very apparent that there was a growing need for a quality running shop in the area. As expected, the hockey side of the business grew very quickly, with the shop becoming one of the best known Hockey shops in London. On the running side it was decided to start small and professional and grow this business over a period. From the outset all the staff at the shop have the training to provide Gait analysis, making sure that the customers not only got a good pair of shoes but importantly, the correct pair.
After just 1 year in business Ceelect Sports bought a share of The Hockey Centre based in Woking & St Albans (www.hockeycentre.com), one of the oldest and best established Hockey retail companies in the UK. By merging with the Hockey Centre; Ceelect Sports has jointly become one of the top five independent suppliers of hockey equipment. The partnership became official on 1st August 2004 when Allan Jobling, now managing director of the newly formed partnership, signed up with John Hurst, ex England and Great Britain hockey Goalkeeper, current England & GB Hockey Goalkeeping coach and managing consultant of The Hockey Centre.
Since the merger the emphasis for the company has been setting a firm base in the supply of Hockey equipment to the players and clubs in Surrey and London and by 2007 had firm ties with most of the Local Hockey clubs providing equipment and clothing to the likes of Spencer HC, London Wayfarers and Battersea Wanderers, plus all the local Battersea/Wandsworth clubs and many more throughout Surrey.
In 2007, with the lease on the original Lavender Hill shop up for renewal it was time to move to bigger and better premises. The move (just next door!) to 149 was completed in September 2007 and currently the task of a complete refit of the new shop is underway, this is due to be completed in the new year but ‘full service’ will be continued all through the process. Once the refit is completed, the larger shop space will enable further expansion of the Running side of the business, with plans to make the shop the primary location for Asics goods in SW London.
